Cheese is a dependency of GNOME’s system settings iirc so thats surprising at all
For the rest (dont know how much I linked this today even though the link is also given while updating):
I would suggest to pay more attention to a) the output given while updating and b) the transaction summary of Pamac. In the end you are the system administrator and control a big portion of what happens to the system.
