Garuda-update option to remove a package set to yes by default

Hey guys. I'm having some weird type of error. When trying to update my system using garuda-update, if there is a a package conflict, the suggestion for removing a package is set to yes by default. Is that how it suppose to be. Here is the terminal output of the garuda-update.

garuda-update

As you can see from the above terminal output "sweet-them-full-git and sweet-kde-git are in conflict (sweet-kde). Remove sweet-kde-get? [y/N] y". This question wasn't promoted to me and I didn't press "y". It jst appeared to be as it is. So can some one explain this please.

And below is my output for garuda-inxi command

I believe those packages are meant to be removed by default (maybe by the Garuda Team?) so that its replacement sweet-theme-full-git can be installed without causing problems. Me too my updates on multiple machines behaved that way and everything runs super smooth still.

Look at #5 :stuck_out_tongue:

Also look like you will have to remove python-httpx-socks for the update to go through, which probably means you will also have to remove searx if you have that installed.

Yes.

garuda-update is supposed to help deal with common issues people face during an update process, and so will automate responses in certain known situations.

Of course, if your system is in a different state (because of changes made by the user) then it won’t know what to do, so will fail.

Well, Garuda update itself won't fail any more than pacman itself will. It will throw the gauntlet back to the user in case of any user input requirement it doesn't know how to handle. In this case the packaging issue is not handled automatically, because it is not directly related to Garuda's default setup since the first 2022 ISO and is therefore out of scope.

I bet "The Amazing Kreskin" would have the precognitive powers to divine any package conflicts long before they ever occurred.

Where is Kreskin when you need him?

Sorry for the reference to anything pre-internet for you whippersnappers out there.
