Garuda Linux Freezes after Sleepmode

Hey I have installed Garuda Dragonized on my laptop a few days ago. I am pretty happy with it but everytime i put it to sleep it freezes (black screen) then I need to force shutdown my laptop which is unbelievably unconvenient.
I sometimes a window pops up with the message: Configuration file "/var/lib/sddm/.config/sddm-greeterrc" not writable. Please contact your system administrator.
I tried other Kernels (LTS; Hardline) and It did not help.
I also tried as root but did not make a change either.
I also tried just touching the sddm-greeterrc file manually logged in as root and as an administrator. Nothing works.
At first I had a dual boot system, so i thought It would not be compatable as is it stated on the website then I reainstalled everything single boot garuda but it still did not help...

Hi there, welcome!
Maybe check if this helps for the sddm problem... just an idea at a quick internet search:

Configuration file "/var/lib/sddm/.config/sddm-greeterrc" not writable is displayed when booting to KDE

No idea for the sleep mode issue (maybe search also in the forum)

May I also kindly ask you to edit your post adding 3 ~ before and after the inxi part (for better formatting)

I have already seen and tried this solution and it still did not make the problem go away.

You have to provide journal errors for your failed boot, or the last part of journal before hard shutdown, so we know exactly the real cause (or get an idea). (man journalctl)

Nevertheless, PM in Plasma has known similar troubles.
But there are always workarounds, that if they aim correctly (and such bugs are not solved from upstream), they can serve as permanent solutions.

Have a look at Archwiki PM workarounds and try to apply whatever you think you can. Report feedback with what you have done and post messages (we can’t work with assumptions, really ).

Do you have the "S3 sleep state" option in your BIOS? I regularly heard that Linux (in general, doesn't matter which distro) won't be able to get out of sleep mode if the sleep state isn't set to S3 in the BIOS. My Lenovo Slim 7 also had that issue, because S3 sleep state option wasn't present, until I modded the BIOS which gave a tons of new options, including S3 sleep state.

Maybe try to give a look here, and relevant links, there seems to be a possible workaround, I don't know how much reliable, but you could try.

There is no sign in journal from a wake-up attempt. This makes me think that maybe your input devices cannot wake up.
I suggest you find your keyboard and touchpad properties (VendorID, ModelID) and create a udev rule to stop them from suspending. Read about it.

Or disable Display PM.

Or use a kernel parameter for PCI (or USB, depending your input HW) to not use PM.

I am using a mini PC with limited Bios options and a few days into Dragonized I am finding the same sleep or hibernation issues as well - so would love to know what you eventually found - or did you give up on Garuda ? I have been on the fence for a few days finding one bug after another - I know I gave up on it about a year ago and since I got all the latest higher power hardware I would give it another try...as a part of their philosophy it might be nice to have certain tool scripts or what ever to test and report on several of these very basic needs - took me days to find how to fix updates by hunting down wiki's and other OS forums to find a fix that finally worked - still many things not working - and I think you have to love the interface to keep sorting these things out - I just hope they don't break after upgrades.

While your issue may appear very similar to this users issue, it is possible that your issues are caused by different factors.

A couple of things to check, be sure your bios is up to date, and be sure to test alternate kernels. If those suggestions are of no help then please open your own help thread containing your system specs and any supporting logs.
