Today, I:
- downloaded garuda-i3-linux-zen-250308.iso
dd if=garuda-i3-linux-zen-250308.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync- boot it in a Lenovo TP X1 in UEFI-mode with SecurityChip and SecurityBoot disabled
- reproducibly ended up stuck in a backlit black-screen even before reaching the Grub menu
I noticed that:
- latest debian-netinst.iso boots just fine with the same USB on the same laptop
- garuda-i3-linux-zen-250308.iso boots, but only using
ventoy
Why would simply dd’ing the iso not do it, but ventoy does?
