Issue: Garuda apps are showing in light theme mode instead of dark theme mode.
Themes:
Applications: Sweet-Dark
Icons: Beautyline
Desktop: Sweet-Dark

Have picture of issue but cannot upload due to new users not being allowed to upload images.

Appreciate any assistance.

I believe those apps are themed with Qt instead of GTK--I'm not sure if that is a clue, but perhaps this would be a good place to start: Uniform look for Qt and GTK applications - ArchWiki

What was your method for changing the theme?

Make sure you have a dark theme installed
and activated before configuring qt apps!

nano ~/.config/Trolltech.conf
add lines:
[Qt]
style=GTK+

For Debian/Linux Mint/Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install qt5-style-plugins
For Arch Linux:
sudo pacman -S qt5-styleplugins

sudo nano /etc/environment
add lines:
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2

also, this line may be added in case you still have light-colored apps after reboot:
QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=gtk2

If you are going to copy and paste from a resource you found, you should link to the resource so others can read it. The way you have pasted it into the thread, it is missing a lot of context that would make it useful to someone who wants to learn more.

What about qt5-settings-manager and/or kvantum-manager?
And Garuda use micro, btw. :slight_smile:

kvantum-manager does have a "respect dark themes" option under Configure Active Themes > Safe Settings > Hacks

I'm unsure if editing the file(s) manually caused this option to become checked or not.

I was unaware of the micro tool. Nice tool to use.

Thank you for the support. Keep up the great work.
