But all this did not help the same issue when try to boot… “You need to load kernel first” / " failure reading sector 0xxxxxxx from ‘hd0’

If this happened after an update, have you tried restoring the latest working snapshot?
Then garuda-update again.

@filo

Hi,
did a new install and then I had the same issue.
So I did new install again and online update before reboot.

So I did get this issue allways

I tyred to select all snapshots
no one did boot all the same issue

is there a newer Version as: garuda-dr460nized-gaming-linux-zen-231029.iso ?

Try

thanks

is there a gaming edtion too ?

No, use garuda-gamer to add what you like.

1 Like

thanks a lot!

will try to install and let you know!

had no luck

using this iso: garuda-dr460nized-linux-lts-231221.iso

sha256 checksum was OK

This is a known issue with Calamares (the installer) which needs to be rebuilt due to recent changes.
I think this is going to be done soon, and I hope also this “extra” iso (LTS kernel) will be rebuilt with that.

@filo

thanks

is it possible to update the calamares on live system
to start the install ?

I don’t think it is possible to build a package on a live iso, as it doesn’t have a “real” file system but only an “overlay”.
Better to wait.

Use an older ISO or wait for a fix.

These ISOs cannot be installed via calamares:
garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231218.iso
garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231219.iso
garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231221.iso
garuda-dr460nized-linux-lts-231221.iso
garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231222.iso
Calamares error message: The following modules could not be loaded users@users.

The last ISO that can be installed via Calamares w/o this issue is:
garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231216.iso

Bug reported to @dr460nf1r3 on December 18, 2023. He knows.

thank you

sorry I am new here…
where can I download this version ?

confirm

@ TurboTux

Where can I download the ISO: garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-231216.iso

This version is no longer available.

1 Like

ok thanks

This looks like a GRUB error.

Do you only have the issue after an update?
What happens if you don’t update, can you boot Garuda without any problems?

You should check your ‘Crucial MX500’, it has S.M.A.R.T. errors (hardware issue, cable loose etc).

EDIT: How long have you been using Garuda, is this the first time now? If so, what kind of OS was installed before?

1 Like

thanks

have the error before and after update

smart did not give an error of the SSD

Have you been using Garuda for a while or have you just installed it now?
