Hello everyone, my experience with games on Garuda is mostly very good. Only some games have minor glitches in Wine. For example in one case, Lynn: The Girl Drawn on Puzzles, it couldn’t show non-ascii letters such as German special characters ä, ö, ü, ß.

Wine games however often work even when native versions don’t. If I remember right, this was the case for Brok The Investigator (I recommend this game).

In the case of Smelter, the Demo (when I tried it back then) worked with Wine Staging but the actual game only worked with Proton-GE.

I have only bought PC games from GOG yet. The native version of Psychonauts (another really recommended game) does not work out of the box. Cutscenes are crashing the game, but it can be solved by link-copying the cutscene movie files with lower-cased filenames.

Yet, I only tried one game that always causes a fatal error when started with the current Wine, despite having Proton Gold status: Boti Byteland Overclocked. I didn’t have the chance to play it yet.

Please, if anyone knows how to play Boti Byteland Overclocked (from GOG) on Garuda (I’ve already tried Heroic Games Launcher and Lutris, gave it a new Wine prefix and changed some Wine settings), let me know.

Try to change the game to Proton or Proton-GE instead of using directly wine. You can download in heroic Proton-GE and than choose it as a runner for a particular game.

With Wine I also meant Proton. Sorry, from a user perspective they are like the same thing.
