The issue
I’m trying to install garuda linux, Hyprland edition.
Using the open source drivers (nvidia graphics card) I am able to get to the installer and install it.
When I try to boot it will either flash back to the grub menu or give the
error:
error start_image(): 0x800000000001
Attempts to solve it
try different install methods, tried different drivers.
It worked on a dell optiplex

Use modkey + I to install Garuda Hyprland or Garuda Welcome.
First boot after installation need some seconds (black screen, mouse cursor is visible and movable), seems it need time to check and set the network settings from live ISO.

i don’t think it’s because of the nvidia card because i have an amd system and have the same problem as described in the other thread.
it has nothing to do with the hyperland iso specifically, because as i said it is the same error with the dr460nized iso.
but i’d be happy to be taught better.

setting the partitions as you mentioned allowed me to boot.
So probably not an nvidia problem.
And as the image shows, it happens when still booting.
you write that it works as i have described and show a picture where it does not work.
what now does it work with the boot or not?
edit:
If it doesn’t work like this, then unfortunately I can’t help you any more.
then someone who knows a lot more about it than I do will have to take a look.
It does work, I’m just illustrating what happens when you don’t manually partition

Just saying here, I had this similar error with hyprland latest iso and sway too. I just never had the time fix it or report it so I kept on hold.
After installing and selecting in grub, it would just throw me back to grub…
