For my Logitech G502 X LS wireless mouse and SteelSeries Apex 7, downloaded openRGB there were some WARNING messages on ASUS GL702VSK laptop only, also PowerA Spectra Infinity Controller needs working Fix worked on bazzite fedora type, rumble only so far?

ASUS Republic of Gamer model GL702VSK laptop, I have a Logitech G502 X LS mouse, no RGB lights on the wireless mouse, but the mouse power charging pad, has A logo RGB light, also under linux I cannot see the battery charging on the mouse, I am guessing the pad is working the same as in windows, but I do not know for sure, it under read as, Candy Companion chip, its lights are able to be turn on my OpenRGB but there is a message, also the keyboard I have the mouse plugged into is a SteelSeries Apex 7 keyboard, which I am using with Garuda at this time, the only error message is below, I think it has to do with the laptop itself, the keyboard has red lights, and on the back on the laptop is a logo design light, which is off at this time, this laptop came with windows 10, and because of its processor it does not handle windows 11 right at all, and is not supported on windows 11 because of its intel i7 processor was on the not support list. I also have a older razer keyboard I am using with my desktop, which works with OpenRGB and the razer linux drivers.

monitor supports 4k, but text is not right on linux at that settings and icons are too small on most distro’s not fedora has it right, anyway I set it to 1080 for now.

More Detailed info, somewhat maybe not need or is

no Ghub logitech linux drivers exist as far as I know, so I cannot see the mouses charging rate or what its at under linux, otherwise it works fine. message below is from openRGB on the laptop, this message below is not on the desktop at all, laptop does not have RAM RGB lights at all if that’s what its talking about with DRAM, and keyboard lights do work fine, the lights on the back of the laptop turn on when the screen is on, I don’t think they have any settings to do, they just are either on when the laptop is open, or off when its screen is down, as I got a HDMI cable going from it to my gigabyte M28U monitor, I don’t have to use its smaller screen for linux if I don’t want to etc… maybe too much info you don’t need but anyway again below the apps message when ran on this laptop.

WARNING:

One or more I2C/SMBus interfaces failed to initialize.

RGB DRAM modules and some motherboards’ onboard RGB lighting will not be available without I2C/SMBus.

On Linux, this is usually because the i2c-dev module is not loaded. You must load the i2c-dev module along with the correct i2c driver for your motherboard. This is usually i2c-piix4 for AMD systems and i2c-i801 for Intel systems.

See help.openrgb.org for additional troubleshooting steps if you keep seeing this message.

my controller, is having some problems working under it, I think Garuda Gamer, has the same xbox drivers as bazzite, not sure why but maybe I need to reboot the kernel, its detecting as PowerA Spectra Infinity Controller, the the rumble is working, but the rest of the controller is not yet working in steam? I look into fixing it but anyone else have the same controller, any info on getting that one working right? Do I need something more than xbox linux drivers for it? the blutooth gaming controller is detected as a Amazon fire gaming controller, I used home and A button, I think xbox mode for the blutooth controller is home and B button to sync to the blutooth that way if I call right. I used it before on windows, I had not tried it under linux before today.

the other thing for some reason under Garuda switching global themes seems broken on my laptop, since when I switch it, I had to use control alt del, and log out and back in to switch the themes under kde plasma, either its my laptop hardware or a bug in the garuda kde plasma version itself causing the download themes not work until logged off and back on again? what is going on with that?

found some info on problem, again the controller is working under bazzite, which is fedora based, but I am not sure if arch linux has working drivers for the PowerA controller. I found this post below, if that helps or not I am not sure I keep looking for a fix on my own if I can, for now, I can just use my blutooth controller if nothing else.

I did find this on that page, text below is from that link.

Try replacing xpad.c in the kernel’s source code with this: https://gist.github.com/mmstick/9153a60 … b19bbf552d

I grabbed Linux 4.1 and patched xpad.c with this patch. It successfully compiles with the latest version of Linux, but I don’t know if the controller works or not as I don’t have the controller. as I don’t know if this would work with this distro, or is there is a easy way to get the controller working at all.

Also under garuda Gamer, xone-dlundqvist-dkms-git will not install, was able to install the 3 other ones, I try and reboot linux and see if that helps at all, but so far only my blutooth gaming controller is working, I have not tried any other ones than it and the PowerA controller, I have console controllers, like series x, and switch and one for my ps4 but I never used them with any of my pc hardware.

so hybernation was not working, and I am getting crash messages in kde plasma, now I think I might switch the laptop back to bazzite evev if I can’t get steam deck ui on it. which works again with some bugs on my desktop with their nvidia beta drivers, there are some bugs, but it does somewhat work, just with the error in the text menu which I think is fixable with a few settings maybe. other reason to switch back it seems that Garuda doesn’t like my gaming controller, which does work under Bazzite, of course both have their plus and minus features, like I like arch update and install system but I am not happy with some of its bugs I am noticing. the crashing message is from plasmashell, I will try and do a system update but if that doesn’t fix it, I got like 3 plasmashell crashing message under garuda, I do like garuda, and it doesn’t matter too much to me if secure boot is on or off, I still have 2 older laptop’s that are bios based and don’t even include secure boot.

Please, only one issue per topic, as per the template (As this would be far too messy to track these many issues in a singular topic). Please read the template and make sure you post your garuda-inxi .
I’m going ahead and locking this one, but you are more than welcome to make new topics on single issues.
