Fonts not displaying correctly in the top bar

So essentially because I can’t upload image I will describe it in short. On regular dekstop everything is fine and font is being displayed correctly, when launching any application everything on top bar becomes black and unreadable, no settings or anything. I’m new to garuda linux (very happy with it btw) dragonized, Ive used to have it in the past for short period and I remember things are suppoused to be displayed in the top bar. How do I fix it? I tried to search for similar issues but didnt find anything, also sorry if it’s a common issue and I’m noob.

Reboot and post garuda-inxi , please.

  • After rebooting, post the FULL output of garuda-inxi in the body of the post (not linked externally, or collapsed with the “hide details” feature)
  • Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text

Welcome to the forum.

Here is some things you could try:

  • The garuda-inxi you posted shows the system is pending a reboot after the last update.

  • Run garuda-update again to see if there are more updates available and whether errors show up. If so, share the full output so others can help you resolve them.

  • Did you make any changes to the window settings, e.g. choosing a display theme, moving around the taskbar, modifying effects, etc. ? Have you tried another theme (System Settings → Theme)?

  • If you create a new user (System Settings → Users) and log in with this one, does it also have this problem?

Sometimes I think there’s no point in writing anything at all here.

Most likely this is Panel Colorizer. After the Plasma 6.3.4 update it doesn’t work properly now.

You don’t have to be toxic about it, I’m new with severe C-PTSD and everything feels overwhelming. Because you’re the founder doesn’t mean you can disrespect anyone with less knowledge about your system.

It’s just frustrating when you’ve been working your fingers to the bone for years, creating templates to help and nobody reads any of it.

And reading has nothing to do with Garuda Linux or the OS.

I’m sorry that it has just hit and hurt you.

I did run ggaruda-update, it updated something but the issue hasn’t gone. I didn’t make any changes to themes, it was like this since I installed garuda. Changing user - also same issue unfortunately. I think it’s like other user mentioned, KDE bug.

Yes, did try that. I didn’t make any changes to themes, I like the default one.

C-PTSD or not you deliberately ignored the template asking you to include certain information which would have made it much easier for peeps to provide help. We don’t mind helping if we can, but help us help you and save us some time PLEASE.

Also please read all the replies. Hint mine about Panel Colorizer.

That seems to be very good find that matches the issue.

Is there a way to disable the colorizer or is it built-in functionality? I can’t really test that on my system (without excessive effort), because I un-dragonized it basically back to KDE stock and I’m not seeing any issues, even on Pasma 6.3.4.

You yourself didn’t read my reply yet scold me to look at yours. I’ve mentioned it in the other comment. You don’t know how hard it gets and how hard it is to focus on anything, I’m not going to pour my suffering all over you, but the least you can do is be silent about it. I just joined the forum and someone is already scolding me, I am not going to discuss this further with you.

Yup, I disabled colorizer and now at least it shows date and names properly!

@SGS there is now a patch, but cannot install it because 2.4.1 cannot be uninstalled without removing dr460nized.

checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing plasma6-applets-panel-colorizer breaks dependency 'plasma6-applets-panel-colorizer' required by garuda-dr460nized

OK the official release is in the repos. just updated and tested and all’s good.

To save time on your daily updates, you don’t have to check the mirrors every time.
