you might wanna check journalctl -xb -1 to view the previous boot’s logs, and then go to the very bottom for some logs about the shutdown procedure. If you’re in luck, the journal manager gets shut down shortly after the unmounting procedure and you might see why it’s having trouble unmounting the root partition.

Yep it was network manager, upgrading to 1.46.0.2. fixed the ipv4 issue and i’m back online and updated. Still having that error trying to unmount /root at reboot but at least I can research some more on that now. Thanks for the quick response!

I have found this old thread linux - filesystem are unmounted before the services are stopped in systemd - Stack Overflow that may have a hint of what is going on.

Ha thanks, the streak continues since the problem was with Network Manager!
I wonder why specifically it broke ipv4 but ipv6 worked fine?

Something went wrong with detection of duplicate IP addresses, details in the issue linked from the other thread

Hey Dmitry, did you upgrade Network manager to 1.46.0-2 yet? That fixed the connectivity problem for me at least.

slava ukraini

Well… didn’t upgrade it, mate
but have no any connection issue so far…
only that annoying β€˜root unmounting fail’

Gheroyam slava!

Please do not use solved threads to post your β€œsame” problem

I need to sorry, guys!
Actually it is not problem with the root but with /var, /tmp and /home directories. Here below is a log as per @UltraBlack suggestion (journalctl -xb -1)
