I started the install of Garuda Dragonized Gaming Edition. Using a PNY USB Stick with Garuda ISO put on it using Balena Etcher.
Installed onto a PNY SSD with Windows installed on it.
I went with the default options, erase disk etc, but changed swap file on hibernate.
Started the install fine but then stops with sfdisk errors saying it could not created a partition.
Command: sfdisk —wipe=always /dev/sda
First time I didn’t notice the errors the PC just switched off, when I switched it back on it showed the install with these errors.
Restarted the install but this time selected no swap but install failed almost immediately with the same sfdisk error.
I had previously installed Kubuntu on the same PC with the exact same kind of PNY SSD Drive.
I’ve tried to search for answers but nothing found.
It does not work. Always shutdown M$, do not reboot from M$.
Disable fast and secure boot in BIOS.
BTW, dual boot is not supported by Garuda.
It would be better if you only answered again when you are sitting at your PC, then we don’t have to read everything from the beginning again.
Tomorrow your last version can already be the penultimate version, we always need the date here, this is contained in every ISO name, so it is sufficient if you post the complete ISO name.
When fast boot is enabled, the computer is not completely shut down and the partitions are “protected” against changes. The partitioning in the installer will therefore fail.
So I am back from holiday and have just booted the PC into BIOS. Fast Boot is disabled.
The SSD drive is installed and set as first boot device. Second boot device is the USB that the Garuda ISO has been flashed to.
This is the ISO that I am using:
garuda-dr460nized-gaming-linux-zen-240428.iso
Here are the text files containing the outputs of:
garuda-inixi
lsblk -f output files
After rebooting, post the FULL output of garuda-inxi in the body of the post (not linked externally, or collapsed with the “hide details” feature)
Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text
