Just did an update tonight. After it finished I resterted my computer, like normal. On an attempted boot I get this error:
Loading linux linux-zen ...
Error: file '/@/boot/vmlinuz-linux-zen' not found.
Loading initial ramdisk ...
Error: you need to load the kernel first
This happens on all 3 zen kernels. (Normal, fallback, and recovery)
First thing first, I tried to boot from the last snapshot(s), they all hang during startup on a [ OK ] Started some service.
I can access the terminal from the snapshots boot screen, but nothing can last because they are write only.
So no garuda-update etc.
I am at a rural site for work, so I have no access to another computer or a live boot medium to chroot in.
Here is my best attempt at a garuda-inxi wish I had some way to dump it to pastebin or the like, but alas.
Hmm, you don’t have a ton of options available without boot media.
On the Grub screen where you choose the boot option you want, press E to enter the menu where you can edit kernel parameters on the fly. Take a picture of that screen and upload it to the forum.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. It took some time to get things together and get everything sorted.
Called in a favor and got a laptop to borrow.
Made a live boot drive, that will now live in my comp bag, and booted my laptop.
After some googling I was able to chroot in, manually update the mirrors (update was throwing download speed errors, and reflector just gave connection errors for everything).
After that it was just a matter of using garuda-update and that solved the rest of the problems, as the faq knew it probably would.
What a weird situation to be locked out by an error and even snapshots can’t help.
