Error: linux-firmware-nvidia: /usr/lib/firmware/nvidia/ad103 exists in filesystem

… i have used these two commands and hope it’s the same as:

garuda-update, alias update, alias upd is a Garuda-specific sudo pacman -Syu.

This shouldn’t matter in the case of the firmware update, however.

# means that you have already entered your sudo password, so you can enter it without prefixing sudo.

Conclusion: It’s the same thing.

Hello, can I safely remove linux-firmware-nvidia if I have radeon laptop?
Regards.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Unless you want a broken dependency tree, no.

This issue is now automatically resolved by garuda-update version 4.10.2. We do this without doing any funky -Rdd stuff, so this is a safer way and will allow for a safe reboot even if the update process was unable to complete for another reason. (Since the removal command of linux-firmware will succeed, while the normal system update could be cancelled for another reason)

In short:
Run garuda-update as always. No further intervention is needed.
