Emojis via keyboard

In Windows OS you can press Windows + . to get a GUI that lets you select an emoji and GIF:s and so on. I’d like to have a similar keyboard shortcut in Garuda Linux.

I found a tutorial for adding this feature for Fedora linux but it didn’t work for my Garuda OS (there was a mismatch between the settings assumed available by the tutorial and the settings I actually had available). I couldn’t find a tutorial for Archlinux on this and couldn’t find any mentions of this in the forum.

Try the solution mentioned here,
https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?pid=68776#p68776

basically,

sudo pacman -S noto-color-emoji-fontconfig noto-fonts-emoji emote

and then keybind emote (aka add keyboard shortcut to launch emote) with meta+.
