EGPU switching hooks would also be helpful along with hybrid GPU switching

Firestorm is not able to see GPD EGPU 7600XT so it does not use it.

Seemed to work fine in Cyberpunk 2077 or possibly was working.

In windows there is a driver hook that shows connection to the EGPU on power on after windows detects it. This is likely missing in the Linux AMD Driver. Looking into which project or projects this falls under.

Also noticed the CPU only has 1 core showing up. Is that normal? There is no issue with the hardware it seems to be working as intended so far.

Also still trying to test the GPD EGPU to make sure it is working as intended.

Much appreciated.

Wrong and right !! lol Yes it shows “only” 1x cpu (you have only one with 8x “real” and 8x"smt" kernels.

Egpus in Linux are very specialized and not so easy to integrate into a system but if you’re also using such a kernel, you shouldn’t be surprised that it doesn’t work.
Perhaps with another kernel (zen, lts or znver4), can’t test this reason no metal.
As Info:

and default the DE works with your igpu not with dgpu or egpu. Think on this.
You need then prime.

Arch is actually seeing it; thunderbolt 4/usb bridge is functioning as intended; working in Steam just not being seen by Firestorm; which also does not see the discrete NVIDIA graphics card on another laptop; just uses the 680m on the AMD APU.

Again: !!Install prime!!
in Terminal then : prime-run “command” and then ?

This is not a valid solution for AMD GPUs.

@shelled, please look at the Garuda Linux wiki carefully. Your use case is described. Switching between integrated and dedicated graphics | Garuda Linux wiki

It doesn’t though:

Yes prime-run is wrong..sorry
if example for /bash/fish : DRI_PRIME=1 /usr/bin/vlc

Also possible is a environment (global) in /etc/environment = DRI_PRIME=1
or a export in bashrc / config.fish = export DRI_PRIME=1
I have a alias on my laptop, that’s why. :person_gesturing_no:

On some desktop motherboards there is a setting to disable the igpu that has worked for one.

New hyrbid graphics setups that are all AMD should be able to use both cards simultaneously.

AMD driver is open source so this should be possible for older setups too possibly.
