The ‘swoosh’ indicates a reboot is needed since your last update. Please do so and see if you still have that problem. Also, please perform a BTRFS balance. That may help.

Even better if before balancing you clean the package cache and delete some old snapshots, if you have many.

In case you don’t know how to clean pacman package cache,
sudo paccache -rk0
and for AUR,
paru -Scd
run both.

So snapper is only taking up 300GB out of 2TB and I have tried updating and rebooting the system, clearing the cache and i’ve checked ~/.cache and all that has cleared about 1% of the drive.

i figured it out if you select to scan the root folder with tools like baobob and filelight it wont scan the home folder where all the space was being taken.

Should really start getting familliar with terminal, that’s my advice

If you want to find out why your disk is full, there are a couple of ways to do it.
The way I use is the du -hs
command. I start in /
and move through the directories. The du -hs
command tells you how much stuff is in the directory you’re currently in…so if you cd
to the var
directory for example then run du -hs
you will see a different size as the result. You can drill down until you find the folder that has tons of stuff in it then make a plan from there.
The easier option is to install either Gnome Disk Analyser (the best option in my opinion) or Firelight (not as good) and you will be able to see graphically where your disk space is used up.
