Hello.
I have garuda Linux KDE dragonized and every day I get 150 MB or more updates, yesterday I got 750 MB, I mean is this normal? I've worked with multiple Linux flavours and never had this amount of updates every damn day
Of course it is normal.
Updates can weight 2MiB, can weight 4GiB.
Garuda is rolling-release distro on Arch Linux's package base. So, don't worry, it's okay.
You can just forget about updates if they're don't make weather for you.
Welcome to Garuda community
It always depends,
with i3wm I never have so much, but with KDE gaming it was yesterday with me also more than usual.
Also, if you install a lot yourself, whether games or whatever, the updates are also large for large programs.
And
Just another KDE on other PC

thanks, but hahha why
gud. and so, thanks. rly forum mejik.
@hellohello12 It is exactly this.
Expect updates every day, small or large.
You’ve apparently been on fixed-release distribution models until now.
It would help your understanding tremendously if you would Google those two types of distribution models.
But not for too long - the longer you leave between updates the more effort will be needed all at once for updating any altered configuration files.
If u are Using a Rolling Release Distro there are much Updates in Chain u have small internet connection, better use a Stable Release Distro or take smaller Distros
Garuda comes with iw3 or QTile both are much smaller then KDE/Gnome and should have less updates
here a Video he will explain it for u Diff of Rolling/Stable
and no i dont like Vids like Which Linux Distro is the best ... but the information is quite well
Good thing there is garuda-system-maintenance
Welcome to linux.
THis isn't windows. THe software in linux is maintained by hundreds of people if not thousands and is very active unlike windows. If you don't like updates linux just ignore them, thats a plus point of linux doesn't care if you update or not
This is the way rolling release works, as told in above posts.
I am marking this thread solved now.
