Does Garuda has got a clipboard manager?

I’m playing with X11 programming and I discovered one thing: when I close an application, then everything in “clipboard” goes out with the app. After a bit of reading here and there I found out there is no clipboard in X per se, but the functionality can be emulated when there is a special app running in the background that collects content from other applications.

I’m writing it because I can’t remember I had any problem on other Linuxies with loosing clipboard contents with a source app closing. So, I’m asking the topic’s question: Is there such a manager in Garuda?

I’m using the Cinnamon version of Garuda.

I don’t know if this works on Cinnamon but I use CopyQ.

Please, just follow the template.

:warning: Missing information requested in the template may result in not receiving assistance

Make sure you have done the following before you post:

Issue still unresolved? Then:

  • ONE issue per topic.

  • Describe your issue in detail. The more we know, the better we can help

  • Show us the results of your searches, and what you’ve tried

  • After rebooting, post the FULL output of garuda-inxi in the body of the post (not linked externally, or collapsed with the “hide details” feature)

  • Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text

Without garuda-inxi this request will be moved to 412 Precondition Failed

Got it!
I didn’t know I have to do this on this subforum as well

LOL, you delete the template, and now you don’t know if it’s required.

But the fundamental problem is with forum posts like this, you didn’t look for a solution yourself first.
We cannot create an all-encompassing DE that meets all requirements. That’s why you need to be proactive.

No, Garuda Linux does not have a clipboard manager.

Some desktop environments provide one, like KDE for example, but Cinnamon does not.

The ArchWiki has compiled a list of many that you can browse. Install a few, try them out, and tell us which one you like the best.
