I kinda wanna buy this laptop : Laptop Gaming LENOVO LOQ 15APH8, AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS pana la 5GHz, 15.6" FHD, 16GB, SSD 512GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, Free DOS, Storm Grey
Ik that I asked around here about second hand ones, but I couldn’t risk my money at the time with old stuff( Ik it’s perhaps against the mindset of plenty of Linux users, I’m kinda sorry for y’all)
Anyway…
This first laptop(with AMD igpu) could come with
Realtek8852BE( by what Lenovo’s website told me under drivers for windows tab)
Or there’s another one with same specs Lenovo declared that could have realtek or MediaTek( idk why Lenovo doesn’t tell me in their page for drivers) :
Laptop Gaming LENOVO LOQ 15ARP9, AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS pana la 4.5GHz, 15.6" FHD, 24GB, SSD 512GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB, Free DOS, Luna Grey
Does anyone use one of these?
How’s the wifi working?
Does this distro have like direct out of the box wifi for any of these laptops?
Is video acceleration working with these graphics cards ?
The second laptop uses the Nvidia rtx as main and only graphics card, but the first one has an AMD one( Radeon 760M) .
Does the distro install the Nvidia drivers when installing it ( like as pop os does it)?
Do you think that Garuda would run well/ fast with any of these 2 laptops? Idk if I could buy a better laptop honestly
Last year I tried endeavour os on my old msi with 7300hq and I just wiped that SSD cuz I kinda failed ( I couldn’t fix the overheating when playing YouTube videos of the mx150 and of the 7300hq’s igpu for some reason… Ugh, I kinda Borked Eos when trying to install new Intel drivers … )
Ultimately, which was the cpu command if I were to install stuff with this distro, I guess searching was with pacman -S …
Thanks y’all for reading and answering, I couldn’t do this without you
