Hello Garuda users.
Please read the following template before requesting assistance:
Please post the terminal/konsole input and output as text (no pictures) from the following command:
garuda-inxi
Refusing to post the output of the required “garuda-inxi” on a help request will likely result in you not receiving any help from the Garuda team. A failure to provide your system specs may also result in your thread being closed without notice, (as without this information providing assistance is often next to impossible).
Before opening a new help request, please search the Arch and Garuda Wiki’s, and read any relevant sections related to your issue. Also, thoroughly search any error messages in the forum’s search engine and on the web. For in depth information on how to search for answers to Linux issues effectively, read the tips on the Garuda Wiki:
Please report in detail everything you have already attempted to solve your problem.
The template above should be deleted before posting your help request.

It is a question of respecting the rules.
Furthermore, garuda-inxi can always contain useful information, even when you wouldn’t think so, such as a partial upgrade, a pending reboot, etc.
More than anything else, you should provide (to any helpers in the forum who use a set-up similar to yours, I wouldn’t say it’s a Garuda problem) more information.
One thing comes to my mind: why do I see sudo
? I guess it’s not needed to launch the setup.
Then try searching in the upstream issues.
For example, if you use davincibox
, I see this:
opened 09:09AM - 07 Oct 23 UTC
So I decided to manually install the davincibox image using distrobox, and the i… nstaller fails with this error (this is from within the container):
```
[jahinzee@davincibox ~]$ ls
DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.run [ redacted ]
DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.zip [ redacted ]
[jahinzee@davincibox ~]$ setup-davinci './DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.run' distrobox
Extracting /home/jahinzee/DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.run ...
/usr/bin/setup-davinci: line 26: /home/jahinzee/DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.run: cannot execute: required file not found
/home/jahinzee/DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.1_Linux.run could not be extracted.
Please double-check that it is a valid DaVinci Resolve installer.
[jahinzee@davincibox ~]$
```
As seen above, the file is clearly there, but for some reason it is unable to be picked up by the system. I tried marking the file as executable but no success.
And in general distrobox
issues. E.g. (obviously change the search filter):

chmod +x DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.3_Linux.run
?
run it with sudo
like this sudo ./DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.3_Linux.run
if doesn’t work , run it without sudo
like this ./DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.3_Linux.run

the sudo is required and the chmod is also correct the issue seams to be a little weirder
