The time has come to try and garuda-update, as linux-firmware updated again very shortly after my post about it here:

I think this is directly related to which is (hopefully) solved by It was previously reverted for that reason. pkgrel 9 is out in testing now, so you should expect it to be available very soon, please update to it ASAP and confirm it fixes the problem with GPU.
