DirectX 12 on RTX 2060 for Death Stranding (Epic/Heroic)

Not sure if this falls here, but please feel free to tag/move as needed.

I thought I'd see if my cloud saves from Death Stranding where saved on Epic, when I played the game on Windows, right before moving to Garuda... I can sign in nicely on Heroic to Epic, I downloaded the game with no trouble. But when I try to run, it gives me an error saying "Your graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 does not support DirectX 12 features" - which is weird, since this is the exact same hardware I played the game on Windows.

I know drivers and stuff are different between Windows and Linux (duh), could be related to emulating the DirectX 12 over Wine or Proton, and I must admit I'm not very knowledgeable about both.

I did try to search around for how to deal with it, found quite a number of Windows patches for playing the game on hardware that didn't support Directx12, but none of those worked through Wine.

Anyone got other tips I could look into? I played the original version, and was thinking of diggin my teeth into the Director's Cut that I got on Steam a while ago, but I didn't want to start over on a blank slate - I know I can install and it'll probably run nicely through Steam (I haven't yet found a modern game that didn't run, although I've had issues with older games, like that Sonic Racing game), but I wanted to try and run the Epic version to see if I can recover my save from their cloud.

Try running the game with proton. Generic wine doesn't have a lot of game compatibility.
If that still doesn't work, try installing vkd3d (I'm not sure if this is required, but it'd definitely be worth a shot)

Also check if you have the nvidia vulkan drivers installed

do I have do change anything more than the option in Heroic?
I tried that:

and... this time it worked? wtf? O.o I swear I had tried this yesterday and it didn't work!

anyway... looks like either I didn't backed up my DS saves to Epic, or Heroic wasn't able to pull them back (I know, Heroic says Cloud saves are still experimental/beta).
