Developer Challenge: Arch Linux App for open-source social-media platform Minds.com

Team,
I was hoping to post this challenge to the Development channel, but it seems I am not allowed to post in there. Minds.com is a wonderful open-source social media community. The browser-based version seems to lag badly on FireDragon. I reached out to their developer team, and Bashy responded that Minds has issues with certain browsers (she mentioned issues with FireFox).

When I asked Bashy if there were any plans for a Linux-based app, here is her response: “We are not planning on making such modifications, but Minds does have public code, so maybe someone with knowledge could make Arch version of Minds.”

What do you guys think? Anyone up to such a challenge? From what I have seen, there are some mighty talented individuals in this Garuda forum.

This might be the place to start if someone wants to kick this idea off:

Thanks for reading my challenge.

That’s quite a lot of effort to avoid just installing a chromium based browser and using that for sites that firefox has trouble with.

Understood, you got me

Not my thing but you could make a electron app for it or a web app

Or the developers could make it compatible with Firefox. In my opinion, that’s the way to go.

This is why I love this forum. Three different perspectives, all with a valid outcome.

I think I agree the most with @Apocalypticus. It’s the open source way. So I would definitely start by digging in here: Minds · GitHub and seeing if there is any discussion about Firefox support (if I was interested in a social media platform, which I am not. No judgement though :hugs: it sounds like an interesting project). Good luck!
