I am daily driving garuda for quite a while now and everything was working ok up until two days ago where my pc started freezing up. Most often it would freeze up when i would be browsing , so i thought to start fresh and reinstall the system, but even after the fresh installation the problem keeps occurring usually when i am browsing (it happend on firedragon as well as brave). If a video was playing or i was listening to music it would be stack on the audio of the last 2 or 3 seconds and it would keep on playing on a loop those last seconds, when this happens i either click the restart button or i would press the power off button until it was shutdown any commands throw the keyboard or moving the mouse want do a thing. After the fresh install I also tried to change kernels i used the lts one but i still faced the same problem. Lastly something i found out after the installation of the system when i went to garuda assistance > other diagnostics and i would click on journal errors this is what i get

and after a bit of search I am not sure if any of the above errors might be the reason for the problem i still face. Any suggestions are welcomed , thanks in advance !

Browsers consume a lot of storage space. Have you tried X11 on the login screen? Is the cooling working? Watch temperature and memory load with htop. Also look at the journal jctl in the terminal. For Resources hungry DE like KDE seems your CPU and RAM are too weak :man_shrugging: . Just my opinion…

is for smoother/better scrolling (2 finger) with a touchpad. This option is now also default for firefox.
If you don´t use a touchpad comment it out or ignore this message.

your third issue is
missing firmware file/s or “bad” bios (not shure)
amdgpu: Secure display: Generic Failure.
amdgpu 0000:0a:00.0: amdgpu: SECUREDISPLAY: query securedisplay TA failed. ret 0x0
try reinstall firmware or
install firmware gid (perhaps there are the missing files)

take a look in your bios also
Initial Display Output -->IGD Video
Sets the onboard graphics as the first display
( that´s not the problem only a faster boot time)

and if possible spend money for ram/cpu or install another DE with less on resources example xfce …also just my opinion…

Similar issue to yours , try the linux or linux-lts kernel.

Install with:
sudo pacman -S linux linux-headers
And reboot and see for changes.

Else,
sudo pacman -S linux-lts linux-lts-headers
And reboot.

Idk but once I manually did btrfs-scrub and stuff with the btrfs maintenance or assist tool, and it wrecked havoc on my install HDD. (on a different Arch based distro).

Perhaps Garuda’s automatic maintenance for btrfs is causing these freezes, idk if it is recommended to mess with these options but you should be able to disable btrfs maintenance from Garuda assistant, Btrfs assistant/maintenance or something as a last resort.
