Recently shifted from windows to linux, started out with this distribution, but recently Ive been having graphics issues. Up until recently, my screen would freeze, and after about half a minute, whole screen would go black, all apps but Firedragon would close, and i would get a notification saying that “Desktop effects were restarted due to a graphics reset” from KWin Window Manager. However, today, it would reset whenever i opened a new application. I wasn’t able to find much only, the only concrete thing that most sources were able to provide was to disable complications, but when i tried to follow the steps given to do that, i couldn’t find the setting needed. It appears to me at least that both my gpu and drivers are compatible, and the only other reason i can think of for why this would be happening as a highly inexperienced user of linux would be low ram, but i have 16GB installed, and windows is supposed to be more resource hungry than most linux distros, from what i have learned.
For context, This issue started happening about 2-3 hours of game play in a minecraft modpack I’ve been playing for about a week at this point, but i only have 8GB allocated to it, and it hasn’t given me a low ram space warning yet. Fro what i know of, I haven’t installed additional desktop effect plugins, just added or removed a few of the ones already available at install. The only other post on here with the same issue didn’t get any response or solutions, so idk how that user fixed it, if at all. Is there anything else i could try or need to look at to get this issue solved?
