The last link in the first post of the thread FGD linked (this one) is a long checklist of questions you can copy/paste into a document editor or Kate or whatever you like, and just type your answers right into the document. When you've finished you can paste it back into the thread so we can check it out. It gives a good base to start hunting for clues.
It looks really long, but...well, no, it is really long, but a lot of those questions are simple yes/no questions that you can blast through quickly.
