It comes installed on many distributions, Garuda Gnome does not have chrome-gnome-shell installed by default, causing the Gnome Shell browser extension to be ineffective. This is a minor issue but still a problem.

Agreed; given it's needed for the extensions.gnome.org site to work it would be worth including by default.
