Cetting connection refused when trying to connect to Weylus

I initially got the unreachable error until I set my ethernet to trusted under the firewall settings, then I get the connection refused error on my Tab S8 Ultra

I didn’t install it from the AUR, but apparently it’s in there and I didn’t know prior to looking for answers to my issue, the version I’m using is the same as from the AUR though.

It has worked prior, to some latency, but not now, not even after rebooting both my PC and tablet. I even tried a hotspot and changing the port, from 1701 to 7500, to the same issue.

searching up the issue brings up this but it’s not the issue I’m having, it makes the port no issue but my tablet and phone can’t connect to it, even after setting my ethernet to trusted.

here’s the inxi output btw

I do have deckboard and iriun webcam server installed, which I didn't prior to it breaking, so no clue if it's that or not.

Try the AUR version. What have you got to lose? :man_shrugging:

It looks like there is a -bin version to spare yourself needing to compile it:

aur/weylus-bin 0.11.4-1 [+6 ~0.00]
Weylus - Use your tablet as graphic tablet/touch screen on your computer.
aur/weylus 0.11.4-2 [+8 ~0.03]
Use your tablet as graphic tablet/touch screen on your computer.

They appear to be on different versions, so I would suggest trying them both.

What firewall is in use?

Have you tried completely disabling the firewall to test if the issue is related to that?

that would be firewalld, because I couldn’t get google play working in Waydroid without it to fix networking for some reason. I don’t remember if it was off or just not installed, when I was getting Waydroid working, but when it was off via systemctl Gapps didn’t connect right.

trying that now

I got 404 error downloading compile deps when trying to go for weylus and weylus-bin has the same issue as the github download

EDIT: using the version from the AUR and setting the ethernet to trusted got it working. Also going to note that you can create virtual monitors with this in garuda linux no problom but hardware acceleration doesn’t work
