Cant login as normal user any more just like root

Hi there i installed garuda mokka today and set up a big chunk of the stuff that i will use and how i will use them. I add jack and qjackctl because i am working with music mostly. Then i installed virt manager and qemu and alot more programs that i use it general all of this with the app. I am middle ground linux user i understand big chunk of the stuff that i am doing. So all was perfect and i was very happy with what i did to the moment that i decide to put the machine to sleep/hybernate to test the plasma shells because i have problems with them in general. When i weak up the pc i cant login any more with my normal username and pass. I try to restart-same. I press ctl alt f3 to test can i log in as root with the same passward btw and i can. Then from root i try to reset the pasword didnt help, i try to make new user and login with it - still cant. At last i try to roll back with snapper didnt change nothing. At the end i can still login only as root -sddm is working fine i gess.

Are you rolling back to a snapshot before the breakage?

Yes i even try more then one even a lot early ones . I can log as root and post here the system log if it will help but i myself didnt see anything there that will help me to fix it my self. May be at the end i will reinstall it again to see if i will replecate the issue.

Have you tried creating a new user account?

Test this to see if a new account has the same issue.

There was a random bug not to long ago. If i remember right you had to go into the password? file and change it there. Or it was something with /usr/bin/fish or /usr/sbin/fish I can remember for the life of me though. I hope someone smarter might know.

Yes, I remember that too: there was a pacnew file for /etc/shells a while back that caused a very similar issue if users overwrote the existing file with the pacnew. Essentially, we had quite a few folks who wiped their valid login shells without realizing what they were doing and couldn’t sign in anymore.

@Nanomith did you merge any pacnew files?
