Can't launch several apps after fresh install

Hi there,

I have just done a fresh reinstall of Garuda from the 10-2023 Gnome ISO. I have even started over from scratch and reinstalled a second time with the same issues.

After installing, I’ve noticed that I’m unable to launch Chromium, Brave, Garuda Settings Manager, Steam, and possibly many other applications. Each application simply never launches when clicking the application. I’ve also noticed some mild graphics lag, so I believe the issue might be related to the graphics drivers, so I checked the driver in mhwd and inxi, and everything looks normal to me… I’m not sure how to troubleshoot this.

Looks like most applications are working after rebooting, but I still can’t launch Garuda Settings Manager for some reason.

Someone else using Gnome had an issue with this package as well. I think the package has been fixed, but the fix hasn’t been deployed to the stable package yet for some reason.

In the meanwhile, you could try installing the -git version as suggested here: WiFi update issue - #11 by filo. It sounds like that version is working normally.

The git version of the package did indeed resolve the issue!

Apologie for not using garuda-inxi, I’m used to other distros.
