Can't find printer drivers for my Brother MFC-J2730DW

Hi, using the “Brother printer drivers” forum, I’ve tried searching pacseek and paru and can’t find the drivers for my specific printer/scanner.

Which model can I choose that would work with this hardware, or failing that, how do I install the drivers from deb or rpm packages?

Thank you!

Are you trying to do network printing or USB?

Either case, most brother printers should work with generic.

MFC-J5930DW is the big brother of MFC-J2730DW, you could try

aur/brother-mfc-j5930dw 1.0.1-1 [+1 ~0.00]
LPR and CUPS driver for the Brother MFC-J5930DW printer

if it is hooked up via USB. I have 2 Brother Network Printers running just with the generic drivers

test with brother-mfc-j2340dw

or download the deb. driver package (from Brother)
install debtap and use this to convert…but if you have then all features or functionality,
not sure.

Make sure cups.service is running.
Connect the printer and turn it on.
In the webbrowser of your choice type localhost:631
In the CUPS webinterface add a new printer which guides you through the process.

After you added the printer in CUPS and it is connected via LAN or WLAN you will be able to configure and maintain everything in the browser by accessing it via its IP adress (preferably static adress).
