Can't boot with different kernel

Report everything you have already attempted to solve your problem.

• As mentioned in that thread, a workaround would be to use a different kernel. I've used the excellent Garuda interface to install linux-lts and linux kernels but after selecting them from the grub menu the screen remains with Loading initial ramdisk ....
• I can go into tty2 and login.
• Calling startx does not start the desktop manager.

Computer doesn’t boot, boots to a black screen, or stops at a message

While there are many potential reasons why your installation doesn’t boot to a desktop, the primary reason is that the graphics drivers haven’t loaded correctly so your login/display manager (DM) doesn’t start. Try with a mobile phone in tethering, if possible.
Or from a live USB chrooting into your installed system.

If I use the default linux-zen kernel everything works ok.

Something goes wrong with the Nvidia driver.
I hope a further update or even better the sudo dkms autoinstall (and checking relevant logs) might help. The latter could be done booting to tty without connectivity.
