Can't boot after update March 2024 [Solved zfs module ]

Hi. I have a problem and I am not able to find the solution. After performing a “sudo garuda-update” everything seems to install correctly, but after rebooting the system loads the “GRUB” but stays frozen, it does not pass more than 2 lines of system check. And I can’t really relate it to previous forum topics.

These are the specifications of my system:

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Have you tried booting onto the latest working snapshot and restore it and repeating the garuda-update?
Maybe something went wrong during the process the first time.
Edit: well, of course you restored, since you’re writing from your system

Thanks for the quick response!
The truth is that the garuda snap to go back in time are fabulous!
I just found the problem, there seems to be a conflict with the zfs module and kernel 6.8.1-zen1-1-1-zen.

I have uninstalled the module, created a snap from there and upgraded again. Now everything works without problems

I had previously installed zfs in the past for testing and indeed this is what was causing the conflict. Thanks for taking the time and I hope this can help other users

The zfs modules are unfortunately often not ready when a new kernel is released. One precaution you could consider would be to add the archzfs repo and the associated kernel repos. These repos hold back the kernel updates until the matching zfs modules are available, so you never have to deal with this breakage.

See this post, for example:
