ever since i installed my bluetooth speakers i cannot see if sound is running using fuser -v /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p (or any other device in the dev/snd directory)

how best to get around this?

https://xyproblem.info ?

@TNE Not sure what you are trying to say here, but my problem is that fuser -v /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p used to provide me with info that my sound card was being used, yet now it is dead and so are all other device in the dev/snd directory.

Yet my sound works fine, but i can no longer detect, when it is and when not.

What could be wrong? Or how best to catch if sound is running as an alternative?

Would that be better to ask?

Sound is running? What does that mean? Do you want to like.. check if there has been any sound in the last 30 seconds or what?

i run a script that stops my screensaver (also a script timing the event in minutes) from running when i watch a video or play a game in full screen or a window. It also deactivates my internet connection when not in use, even if a web app is running, after a certain amount of idle time, and no you-tube video is playing.
