I am able, using MATE, to add most of the applets to the upper panel. However, the Battery Monitor, important for a laptop, will not install. The icon in the Add To Panel's list looks different from the other icons, and it will not install.

Any ideas?

Please reboot and, if the problem persists, clarify the package name, describe how you installed it and if the process was successful.

PS: terminal text formatted

Still won't install. When you right-click in a panel, the Add To Panel app opens. All the icons for the applets are in color, except for this one.

Hi, can you share a screenshot of the problem?
I mean, does the icon does not appear at all, or it is just different?

Earlier, the battery charge monitor was green.
