Cannot access network settings from nm tray

I click "Edit connections" in the nm systray applet menu and nothing happens. No dialog showed.

How can I access the connections options? For adding a VPN connection.

Try installing nm-connection-editor. You can open it from the terminal if you don't find a link/shortcut to open it with.
