I have Windows 10 and Linux Mint installed on my PC. Can I just create unallocated space and install Garuda Linux without any consequences?
Yes.
No, of course not. All choices have consequences.
Multiboot configurations can potentially introduce maintenance challenges, and the added complexity can make troubleshooting issues more difficult. In general, we consider multiboot setups unsupported because it is easy for inexperienced users to break things without understanding what happened. That said, obviously you are welcome to do as you wish with your computer.
I hope that helps, welcome to the community @Zianc22.
Thank you
I have a suggestion…strip your drive so you can install Garuda as a core operating system.
Next install VMware Workstation and put Windows 10 and Mint on your system as virtual machines.
If your really tech sabby, it is possible to use clonezilla to get images of the drive in windows 10 and mint, then stuff them inside virtual machines.
Perhaps this could be an option? Worst case is you can reinstall it all from scratch. Then you can go to windows 11 and have spyware if you want (assuming your not installing the AME 11 playbook)
One thing to note, which ever is not you main linux install disable the grub OS scan or when you go to update and there is a kernel update it will make that the default grub and its annoying to fix if for some random reason it doesn’t see all OS’s.
I have Windows11 and Garuda on two separate SSD’s, cant remember the last time I was in Windows though. To satisfy my need for spyware, in Garuda I have two VM’s PoP!_OS (Silly name) and Deepin Linux which is Chinese
Yes you can install but i do have it on seperate SSD or HDD and boot over bios boot.I have a switch Case for Harddrives so no update harms others OS’s.
