Calibre unable to open any file

Recently i was having problems getting my computer to boot after an up date so i reinstalled everything and its working fine except Calibre reader. the program it self seems to work fine till you try and open something (pfd, e-pub. cbz) with it and it freezes. it worked fine before, i reinstalled it using Octopi it did not help so i uninstalled it again and used
sudo -v && wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.sh | sudo sh /dev/stdin
From their web site and still have the same problem.
Am i missing some driver or something?

Since it isn’t working, I would recommend uninstalling, and reinstall with Pacman.

To uninstall:

sudo calibre-uninstall

Bring your system fully up to date:

garuda-update

Then install through Pacman:

sudo pacman -S calibre

If you encounter any errors or package conflicts while installing, paste them into the thread so we can see what’s wrong.

After you get the system updated and the package installed, I would reboot your system for good measure since the package has been giving you trouble.

If it still isn’t working normally after you reboot, try launching the application from the command line and paste the output you get into the thread.
