Hi,

I have install chaotic-aur/caffeine and when I try open it nothing happens. I never see the icon in my app bar.

Anything I can do to debug/ fix and get it to work?

You should execute caffeine from the terminal to see what's wrong

Have you tried checking the comments in the AUR? I see people are having issues and you could check your journal etc to see if it is the same for you.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/caffeine
Ideally you could report it also to the upstream site bug reporting system (if you like to subscribe to launchpad...).

No I didn't check the AUR site. This is the first place I thought of. The AUR site probably a better first place to look. Thanks, I will check it out.

Yes I did that and it was just "hanging"/ not doing anything.

well it seems like it's working after all (no output usually means that the process is running). I see you are using qtile - Some programs don't seem to like bars like waybar, polybar or whatnot. Evolution-on for example: It works, but the tray icon just does not show.

You could test this with gnome or whatnot, but in the end you might be better off trying to find a different sleep inhibitor.

Yes if I had a Windows or a Mac one of those alternatives would be wonderful I'm sure.

Thanks for the tip.

I found a solution that seems to have fixed it and now caffeine is working on Garuda with Qtile.

I installed the following package and it now works sudo pacman -S libayatana-appindicator.

So libayatana-appindicator is the solution(or was for me at least).
