Btrfs-assistant detailed guide?

Can someone please tell me if there is some guide to “btrfs-assistant”? like what is the optimal setting for 1TB drive, when should I enable snapper timeline/snapper boot and what exactly does it do, and so on.

Yes, there is a wiki on GitLab:

Best answer might be “it depends” (the question is unclear).

Enable it if you want hourly snapshots to be taken for any of your subvolumes.

This takes a snapshot of your system at boot. Most people don’t use this. Probably if you had a use case where this was helpful you would know.

oh thanks I didn’t see it now I know a little bit more about gitlab, managed to find it

Had no idea about this! Great resource! One thing I’m noticing, in the screenshot for the “Subvolumes” tab - it’s showing many more columns than what I have in my Btrfs Assistant. In the screenshot it shows Subvolume, UUID, Size, and Exclusive, whereas on my Btrfs Assistant shows Subvolume, Created, and Read-only. Not sure where to modify the displayed columns?

You need to “Enable BTRFS Quotas” in the Overview tab in BTRFS-Assistant to make it visible.
