Does anyone here use one with their system? I was hoping to use my wireless bluetooth headphones and my motherboard doesn’t have onboard bluetooth. Any recommendations on a good bluetooth usb dongle that works with linux/garuda?

I saw this ASUS one that is ‘compatible with linux’

ASUS USB-BT500 Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter

hello Rambo,

my friend have some of them and it isnt working good. Connection issues after 10 minutes and so on. i did a driver check but their was no issues. I used a PCI WLAN and BT Card AX200 on his Pc with Garuda.

We dont know your System to help you much more out. Please Post your garuda - inxi too like the Template asking for it

I don’t use one myself.

TP-Link UB500 seems to be a good choice for Linux as the driver is integrated into the kernel since version 5.16.

Sorry to be negative, but IMO there really is no good choice when it comes to Bluetooth and Linux. Bluetooth breaks pretty regularly on kernel updates and it’s just overall pretty unreliable in my mind.

I avoid Bluetooth like the plague, and stick to wireless Logitech keyboards and mice that do not require you to use Bluetooth.

I’m using this and it works fine.

@Rambo: It’s not helpful to delete the description of the topic you want to discuss from the starting post - because otherwise nobody knows what this is actually about. I have fixed it.

In principle, I agree with you and also try to avoid using Bluetooth whenever possible. Occasionally, I use a TP-Link dongle (the one @MagDux posted - TP-Link UB500) to connect a speaker. I’ve never had any problems, but as I rarely use it, it’s probably just luck.

Purchased a EVEO Bluetooth Adapter for PC 5.1 on a friend’s recommendation and it works pretty good so far. Does everything I need it to do so far. It was plug and play, I just had to enable the BT service.

sudo systemctl enable bluetooth.service

Nice to read you have a good one

i have a integrated one so i dont have to enable it afterwards in the Terminal. Have fun
