Bluetooth no adapters available

hello all.
I find linux-amd-znver2 kernel most snappy in my everyday use. however, there is no working bluetooth ("No adapters available" error in kde), unlike other kernels.

btusb is loaded.
bluetoothctl power on shows: No default controller available
