Thanks

Hi @RainbowOctavian and welcome to the community ! , please try these steps first then if it didn’t work we will try to trouble shoot it .

Go to settings then :

after step 2 a window will popup its going to scan for devices (Bluetooth devices) :
it looks like this and you will be able to find your device .

Please comment on this thread if it didn’t work .

Hi @Straight ,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have done this and get the below. I have also tried to manually pair it and it pairs but then gives the same error when trying to connect.

Thanks.

So i assume this is Sony WH-1000XM4 bluetooth headphones , You have to install
pipewire app ,
either using the Garuda setup-assistant or using yay directly .

Thats correct.

From what I can tell Pipewire appears to be installed through Octopi.

Not sure what Yay is sorry.

I found this thread in arch’s wiki for someone solved the same problem Sony WH-1000XM4 bluetooth headphones with Archlinux / Newbie Corner / Arch Linux Forums
hope it does help .

I attempted to disable and re-enable to multi connection and that did not appear to fix it.

Then tried manually adding it again and it said it was paired/trusted however it wasnt receiving audio.

Attempted to disconnect to try connecting again. It then dissapeared from the list.

I would recommend using Blueman (a gui and cli app for Bluetooth ) you can install it with any way you prefer , i hope it works without issues

I managed to locate a spare Bluetooth dongle that I had.

It connected instantly to that once I disabled the inbuilt bluetooth. So it may be that the bluetooth adapter on my motherboard is faulty.

Thanks for all your attempts to help.

Your mobo BT chip is not necessarily faulty. It may be something like a kernel or firmware regression that does not work particularly well with that specific type of chip. Or, I guess it could just be sun spots.
