Black Screen on Boot

Hello garuda passion, i’m newbie. I have an issue on boot.
My laptop is R7 5700U, and GPU is AMD on board.

when i boot on every linux distro, my laptop is gray screen. i need to hard turn off laptop and reboot, my laptop boot normally

M$ dual boot?
Live ISO works?

yes , im dual boot and live iso works.
i have used ‘journalctl -b’ command, and i saw this error:

+ACPI BIOS ERROR (bug): could not resolve symbol [_SB.PCI0.SBRG.EC0], AE_NOT_FOUND (20240322/dswload2-162)
+ACPI BIOS ERROR: AE_NOT_FOUND, during name lookup/catalog (20240322/psobject-220)

.And here is my grub_cmdline_linux: “acpi_osi=linux”

From live ISO start calamares with

sudo -E calamares -D8

Post also here the full ISO name. Do not use developer ISO.

sudo -E calamares -D8

Is there a free partition where you can have calamares installed?
It should actually always work with your hardware, I can’t think of anything at the moment.
Please search for:

honestly, thank bro very much for your fast support. I will learn about more

but i have a question, what is calamares for

Just the installer app, btw

kekeke , thank bro very much:> u are the best linux supporter

Please, @SGS is not @Bro

Btw, can you tell whether this problem started just after complete installation or was it after you updated the system ?? :slightly_smiling_face:

I use the wrong avatar.

I can’t find the one without “Bro” on it right now.

It always depends.
You get kinder with age, or rather my tranquilizers work better.

I prefer “sir” to “bro”, especially as we haven’t been introduced in person yet.

To make sure I understand your lines posted in English correctly, I have to translate them into German

Sir, yes Sir! I love freedom and independence. Garuda comes at just the right time. If no one has thanked me for the design of this distribution in the last two days, I’ll make up for it here. /ot

oh, man, I think it’s because my laptop hardware is not compatible with linux. Any linux distro I get that error. So is Garuda. When I boot for the first time, the screen is gray (bios error/ amdgpu error), and when I boot the second time, I can log in.

my information of my laptop is: msi modern 15 a5m, r7 5700u, gpu onboard
