I would say KDE but SGS you can use unicode 1364 to use invisible charicters that still count on discorse.

How would the GNOME edition compare against the KDE version?
The best option would be to try each of the editions and see which one works best for your specific use-case and hardware.
However, do keep in mind that the defaults are oriented towards performance rather than power saving and battery life.
