Audio stops working after unplugging headphones

I boot up and audio is working fine. I plug-in my headphones (To the 1/8 inch headphone jack) and audio is working fine. If I then unplug my headphones, all audio output (Input seems to be okay) stops working until the next reboot.

I'm a bit rusty troubleshooting audio because I've only been admining Linux servers for the past year, until now. This is a fresh install.

There is a suggested workaround for this bug in this thread.

Edit this config file:

micro /usr/share/wireplumber/main.lua.d/50-alsa-config.lua

Scroll down until you see the line that says:

["api.acp.auto-port"] = false,

Change it to:

["api.acp.auto-port"] = true,

It looks like it is disabled by default intentionally, and meant to be implemented in the session manager instead. That clearly isn't happening in your case, so it might be worth a shot (the linked bug report peters out without establishing a more "proper" solution).
