Audio/sound playback device is not shown after update of Garuda GNOME version

After running the latest update on 28. 11.2024, the audio playback device disappeared in the GNOME settings and audio playback is not possible. I tried booting with the LTS kernel, but that did not fix the issue. The update appears to include a new NVIDIA driver and the update to GNOME 46.
Going back to a snapshot before the update fixes it, but at some point in time I’d like to keep my Garuda up to date. If anybody knows what else I could try, I’d be grateful for advice.

Fix this before anything else. This is a dangerous system condition.

Can you load a previous working snapshot?

Otherwise I got nothing. You got the 2 banes of Arch Linux – GNOME & NVIDIA.

Yes, I was able to load the snapshot prior to the update.

The partial update bit is referring to the status of the previous working snapshot.

I tried a fresh install on an external SSD and this upgraded without the sound issue. So I am afraid, I need to do a fresh install on the internal drive.

During the re-install of Garuda, I found out what went wrong. I did have a flatpak package installed with GNOME 45 dependencies (VideoDownloader). I assume that this messed up the GNOME 46 of the latest Garuda update. A fresh Garuda install without this flatpak package fixed it.

I guess if your only tool is a hammer…
