Audio device, but no sink

Hi!

tl;dr: I have a BT speaker which my system finds as a device, but doesnt always "find"/create a sink for, thus I dont have audio.

i think my question fundamentally is: who/what creates audio sinks?

links and resource so i can learn would be great! (i must suck at searching cause i couldnt figure it out...)

=====

THINGS IVE TRIED / DONE

Hope some of this stuff helps!! :slight_smile:

Wrote a small/dumb script for myself that i use to connect my speaker on BT and then sent the sink; often/generally its good:

╭─ ο…Ό ξ‚°  ~ ξ‚°                 ξ‚² 1 ✘ ξ‚² took 11s ο‰’ ξ‚² at 10:29:47 ο€—

╰─ cat $(which sound.sh)
#!/usr/bin/env bash

echo "Connecting bose speaker..."

sleep 10

echo "Setting sink..."
pactl set-default-sink bluez_output.4C_87_5D_4C_B3_66.a2dp-sink

but now/recently, according to wpctl:

so no sink for it. why?

pactl says the same:
