Audio delay / slow to wake up after pause

I have a fresh installation of Garuda Linux on my new desktop computer, and I’m experiencing a strange audio issue. I previously installed Garuda on my laptop without any problems, but this desktop build is giving me trouble.

The Problem: When I pause any media (like a YouTube video or a local file in VLC) for a minute or two, the audio takes about 1-2 seconds to start again after I press play. The video resumes instantly, but the sound is delayed. It feels exactly like the audio device is waking up from a power-saving or sleep state. My audio output is coming from my GPU via DisplayPort.

My System:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X
  • GPU: AMD RX 6600

Maybe this will help?

Thank you very much, I have been working on this for about 3 hours and I have tried many things. I am new to Linux and I am starting to understand why it is called difficult. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
